The company competes for homeowners based on factors such as booking volume and pricing, onboarding ease, service fees and commissions, owner protections, and brand strength. For guests, competition includes hotels, other vacation rental companies, serviced apartment providers, and various online and offline booking channels. The company seeks guest traffic through direct bookings and nationally recognized booking sites like Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Evolve, as well as regional booking sites, online travel agencies, urban rental sites such as Sonder, and niche programs like Inspirato.
