U.S. INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN GOODS AND SERVICES




The nation's trade gap increased in February by 1.7 %, reported by the Commerce Department., the shrinking price of oil, cuts the trade deficit, adds to the gdp and disposable income growth, but economists believe that declining demand for oil imports might be a evidence of slowing economy.

The U.S. trade deficit with China narrowed to $-29.3 billion in February from the deficit of $-36 billion recorded in January, led by declining imports from China.

Growth in China and other developing nations have also downshifted, cutting into demand for U.S. goods.

Imports increased in February by 1.76 %, reported by the Commerce Department, led by imports of Foods, feeds, beverages and Transfers Under U.S. Military Sales Contracts. Imports of Weapons increased also, up 12.90 % to $0.07 billions. Bucking the overall trend, imports of miscellaneous other goods and Other Transportation services contracted by -2.17 %. U.S. Imports of Advanced Materials also declined, by -19.09 % to $0.20 billions.

Economists think the report isn't necessarily a disaster to the extent that the surge in imports reflects strong domestic demand and restocking of store shelves.

The decline came down to oil, as petroleum imports shrank, as oil prices fell to $10.8 billion a barrel in February from $13.2 billion a barrel in January and as Americans used -17.15 % less imported energy products. U.S. Imports of services grew by 2.29 %, whats more important purcheses of foreign made products, which accounted for 81.7 %, of total imports, rose by 1.64 %. U.S. Exports by Major Category

Imports from europe fell, led by -22.55 % decrease in imports Italy, but trade with Norway grew by 25.54 %.
U.S. Demand for goods from Pacific Rim Countries fell with -29.11 % decline of imports from Australia, but imports of goods from Singapore grew.
Trade with other North American countries was mixed, consumption of goods from Canada declined, while imports from Mexico advanced.
Lower U.S. consumption of oil, was evident drag on imports from OPEC countries, such as Saudi Arabia, but there were countries like Venezuela, who have managed to buck the trend and post a gain in February.

From Jan. 2017, U.S. trade gap jumped by 18.8 %, due to 8.92 % increase in imports.

Exports increased in February by 1.76 %, reported by the Commerce Department, led by growing exports of Cars, parts, engines and Passenger Fares. Exports of Opto-Electronics grew also, up 23.70 % to $0.43 billions. Bucking the overall trend, exports of Consumer goods. Exports of Weapons fell as well, by -31.62 % to $0.20 billions.
U.S. exports are rising because of faster growth in emerging markets and the favorable foreign-exchange markets, economists add. U.S. Exports of services increased by 0.9 %, services accounted for 0.9 % of total exports, sales of U.S. made products, grew by 2.19 %.

Products made in U.S. have seen declining demand form Pacific Rim Countries with -29.11 % decline of exports to Australia, but exports of goods to Singapore grew.
Exports to europe improved, where demand of U.S made goods in Sweden grew the most, up 36.92 %, but exports to Ireland fell.
In another good sign, sales to South and Central American countries were up, despite the declining exports to Brazil, americas major trading partner in the region.

Total Technology Group exports deacreased by $1,438 millions or -5.24 % to $26,019 millions from Jan. 2018 , despite an increase in exports of Aerospace goods by 1.48 % to $9,115 millions from Jan. 2018. Exports of Information and Communication goods fell by $1,438 millions or -6.88 % to $7,149 millions.
Total Technology Group imports deacreased by $726 millions or -1.91 % to $37,240 millions from Jan. 2018 , despite a decrease in imports of Electronics goods by -5.04 % to $3,163 millions from Jan. 2018. Imports of Information and Communication goods rose by $726 millions or 4.14 % to $20,951 millions.
