ADVANCE MONTHLY SALES
U.S. Economy
Good news came from the Retail sales report, as it shows improvement after months of deterioration, as rising gasoline prices weren’t enough to choke off U.S. consumers’ demand for cars, clothing and other goods, government data showed. In January U.S. retail sales soared by 5.3 % on the seasonally adjusted basis, reported by the Commerce Department. Consumer increased spending for variety of goods including, food, cars, gasoline and general merchandise.
Fueled by growing prices, gasoline stations were expected to have a banner month, and they did: Monthly sales jumped 3.99 %.
It seems, that confidence of the Consumers is ot the rise, as they return to shops in January. Improving Retail sales are definitely good sign for the U.S. Economy. As the consumer spending is one of the key drivers of the GDP. U.S. retail and food services sales jumped by 7 % for the year, meanwhile sales excluding volatile motor vehicle and parts sales, increased less than overall retail sales, over the last 12 months.

The retail sales bring back the optimism to the markets, as it data breaks the negative trend of economic reports.
Investors and the Federal Reserve usually view the core sales as a better gauge of retail sales because it excludes car sales, which often fluctuate.
The retail sales bring back the optimism to the markets, as it data breaks the negative trend of economic reports.
U.S. retail and food services sales excluding motor vehicle and parts rose by 6 % in the past 12 months.
Sales of essentials continue to grow by higher rate, sale of essentials like groceries and gasoline soared by 4.2 % on the seasonally adjusted basis, food services and drinking places sales rose the most, by 6.93 %. Sale of essentials like food and gasoline dropped by -5.4 % from Jan. 2020.
Ordinarily, rising gas prices take a toll on consumer confidence, but this time it seems that consumers have ignored higher prices at the pump.
