In the third quarter industry wide vehicle sales in U.S. were 4,511,000 units, 19.48% of total world wide industry sales and an increase of 0.27 % from the second quarter , while from third quarter sales fell by -0.90 %.

For the same period world wide vehicle sales rose by 1.11 % sequentialy and advanced by 3.71 % from same quarter year ago.

In the third quarter Toyota sold 2,175,000 vehicles, a decline of -1.81 % from the second quarter and a deacrease of -0.73 % from third quarter .

Toyota¨s world wide market share deacreased to 9.67%, from the 10.31% second quarter , while Toyota¨s market share in North America deacreased to 12.94%, from 13.84% in the second quarter . 

In North America Toyota sold 672,000 vehicles, a deacrease of -7.05 % from second quarter and a deacrease of -1.75 % from third quarter .

In forth quarter Ford vehicle sales in U.S. declined by -8.56 % sequentialy to 570,000 units and fell by -11.71 % from same quarter year ago.

Ford¨s U.S. market share deacreased to 12.62%, from 13.82% third quarter, while Ford¨s market share World wide deacreased to 5.87%, from 6.61% in third quarter. 

World wide Ford sold 1,478,000 vehicles a deacrease of -3.40 % from third quarter and a deacrease of -14.07 % from forth quarter.

General Motors

In third quarter General Motors sold 781,000 vehicles in U.S. a sequential increase of 7.72 % and an increase of 1.03 % from same quarter year ago.

General Motors market share was 17.30% in U.S.

GM sold 179,000 cars in U.S. an deacrease of -2.72 % from second quarter and a deacrease of -17.89 % from third quarter , this represented 22.92% of total G.M. vehicles sold in U.S. with market share of 11.40%.

General Motors truck sales in U.S. increased by 11.94 % from second quarter and an increase of 0.29 % from third quarter year ago, to 347,000 trucks.

Market share was 27.20% in U.S.

World wide General Motors sold 2,317,000 vehicles down by -1.11 % sequentialy and down by -3.09 % from same quarter year ago. World wide market share was 10.00%.
