The company operates in competitive markets across all business areas, particularly in motive and backup power sectors where established battery and combustion generator products are prevalent. Competitors include providers of alternative energy carriers such as solar, wind, and batteries, integrated gas companies, and producers of hydrogen via Steam Methane Reformers. Additional competition arises from electrolyzer manufacturers, liquefaction and cryogenic equipment suppliers, and other vertically integrated hydrogen providers. Competitive factors encompass product features, price, performance, operating costs, quality, safety, ease of use, footprint, integration capability, customer support, design innovation, marketing, service, and corporate reputation. In material handling, competition primarily involves lithium-ion and lead-acid battery technologies. In hydrogen generation and storage, competitors include legacy industrial gas companies producing hydrogen and firms manufacturing PEM electrolyzers, liquefiers, and cryogenic transportation and storage equipment.
