Quanex Building Products's Comment on Competition and Industry Peers

The company operates in competitive markets for engineered building products, wood products, and insulating glass (IG) spacer manufacturing. In the U.S., its engineered building products account for a small portion of domestic consumption. Its U.K. subsidiaries compete in a fragmented market against larger vinyl producers and smaller window manufacturers. In the wood products segment, the company is the largest supplier to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the U.S., facing competition from national and regional businesses, including vertically integrated OEMs, as well as small and mid-size suppliers of metal, vinyl, and wood products, wood molding companies, and in-house operations of vertically integrated customers. In the IG spacer market, competition centers on regional presence, custom engineering, product development, quality, service, and price, primarily serving the residential housing market. Primary competitors in North America include Assa Abloy, FlexScreen, Hoppe, Interlock, Radisson Industries, RiteScreen, Roto, and Screenco.

  • Outperforming the U.S.A. 500 over the trailing 12 months.

Weaknesses

Threats

No rule matched.
