Monogram Technologies Inc's Comment on Competition and Industry Peers

The orthopaedic medical device industry is led by Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc., DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson company), Stryker Corporation, and Smith & Nephew, Inc., which dominate the joint replacement devices market with offerings that include conventional instruments, robotics, and patient-specific instruments. ConforMIS, Inc., now known as restor3d, Inc., is also a competitor in this space. Monogram is developing an autonomous saw-based surgical robot, a technology not widely commercialized by other companies. Competitors possess substantial financial resources and may expand their robotic capabilities. Many also provide surgical navigation systems for arthroplasty procedures. Monogram intends to deliver a multi-application robotic platform that integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning for patient-specific surgical planning. The company plans to compete on price, explore financing options, distribute products through independent distributors, and pursue contracts with national group purchasing organizations.
