The company operates in the pharmaceutical industry, facing competition primarily from generic opioid and stimulant markets, including both long-acting/extended-release and immediate-release drugs. It also competes with non-opioid alternative drugs developed by other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is a noted competitor, having received approval in January 2025 for suzetrigine to treat moderate to severe acute pain in adults.
