Clean Energy Fuels's Comment on Competition and Industry Peers

The company operates in the renewable energy and waste-to-energy sector, focusing on renewable natural gas (RNG) production and supply. Its primary competitors are companies accessing biogas from waste within a fragmented biogas and RNG market. Diesel is the main competitor to RNG as a vehicle fuel. Additional competitors include alternative vehicle and fuel companies, refuse collectors, industrial gas companies, truck stop and fuel station owners, fuel providers, utilities and their affiliates, as well as suppliers of other alternative vehicle fuels such as renewable diesel, biodiesel, and ethanol.
