Tiptree Inc's Comment on Competition and Industry Peers

The company operates in highly competitive markets for business opportunities and personnel, facing competitors with greater financial, personnel, and other resource advantages. Its insurance subsidiaries compete with specialty insurance companies, standard insurance companies, underwriting agencies, and diversified financial services companies that are larger and possess more experience and market recognition. These competitors have superior financial, marketing, personnel, and technological resources, which can make it difficult or costly for the company's insurance subsidiaries to implement competitive technology systems and processes. Competition factors include price, reputation, financial strength, broker relationships, product terms, independent ratings, claims payment speed, and experience. Additionally, regulatory capital and reserve requirements affect the company's insurance subsidiaries.
