Siriuspoint Ltd's Comment on Competition and Industry Peers

The company operates in insurance and reinsurance markets alongside numerous global participants in Bermuda, Europe, the United States, and other international regions. Competition in reinsurance covers property, casualty, and specialty products and has intensified due to non-traditional capital sources entering the market through Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), including catastrophe bonds, collateralized reinsurance, and side-cars. Competition in insurance markets has also increased with the growth of program managers offering products via fronting insurance companies. This increased competition has resulted in pricing pressure and competition for market share. Ratings from independent agencies such as AM Best, Fitch, and S&P are important for establishing competitive position and marketing capabilities. The reinsurance collateral provisions of the Covered Agreement may further increase competition by reducing costs for competitors providing reinsurance to U.S. insurers. Additionally, the NAIC's Insurance Data Security Model Law will require compliance with data security standards once adopted by states.
