The company operates in the competitive asset management industry, focusing on alternative asset management and private credit solutions in North America and Europe. It competes with various asset managers managing public and private funds, commercial and investment banks, merchant banks, commercial financing companies, institutional investors, insurance companies, and private equity funds. The company also faces competition in attracting and retaining qualified investment professionals. In its Insurance Solutions segment, through its subsidiary Ability, it competes with other insurance companies offering fixed rate, fixed index, and variable annuities, as well as mutual fund products, traditional bank products, and other investment and retirement funding alternatives provided by asset managers, banks, and broker/dealers.
