F&M Trust operates in south central Pennsylvania and Washington County, Maryland, within a competitive environment that includes large regional banks, independent community banks, credit unions, mortgage banks, brokerage firms, and online competitors. The company holds varying market shares in counties such as Franklin, Cumberland, Dauphin, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Washington. Nonbanking institutions also provide similar services, often with greater financial and technological resources. Credit unions increasingly compete with banks for deposits and loans. F&M Trust emphasizes local customer service, convenience, a broad range of products and services, and competitive pricing. It is the largest financial institution headquartered in Franklin County.
