The consumer financial services sector is highly competitive, with competition from payments networks, financial technology firms, and other consumer financial services providers. The credit card business competes based on reward programs, merchant acceptance, and additional features. Key competitors include financial institutions such as American Express, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Capital One, and Citibank, as well as companies issuing private label cards. The personal loan product primarily competes with Citibank, American Express, and non-traditional lenders SoFi and Lending Club.
