Celsius Network is a decentralized financial ecosystem that aims to provide financial services to over 100 million users worldwide. CEL is an ERC-20 token which is built on the Ethereum blockchain. Celsius Network leverages blockchain technology to provide decentralized lending and borrowing services, enabling users to earn interest by lending their crypto assets or borrow funds using their crypto as collateral. The Celsius platform functions as a peer-to-peer lending platform where borrowers and lenders deal directly with each other.
CEL token is utilized on the Celsius network in several ways:
1. Rebates and Discounts: Users can earn discounts on their loan interest rates and receive earnings in CEL tokens as rebates.
2. Bonus Interest: CEL token holders earn bonus interest by holding CEL in their Celsius wallet.
3. Loan Collateral: CEL tokens can be used as collateral to secure loans on the Celsius platform.
4. Borrowing: Users can borrow CEL tokens on the Celsius platform.
CEL token supply is capped at 695.66 million tokens. The circulating supply of CEL as of 2021 is around 226 million tokens. The team behind Celsius Network has allocated a certain percentage of the total CEL token supply to incentivize users to participate in the Celsius ecosystem. These incentives include bonus interest rates, loan interest rate discounts, and rebates.
Furthermore, Celsius Network has a comprehensive rewards program that rewards users who use the Celsius platform with various benefits. Users can earn rewards such as higher interest rates, lower loan rates, and rebates on loan interest by holding a certain amount of CEL tokens.
