Description of Worthington Steel Inc's Business Segments

The Company generates revenue by processing steel according to customer specifications, including type, thickness, length, width, shape, and surface quality. It also offers toll processing services for steel mills, large end-users, and service centers. Toll processing revenue is recognized over time, while other revenue is recognized at the point of shipment. Net sales are divided into Direct and Toll product classes. From fiscal years 2023 to 2025, net sales for the Direct product class ranged from $2,943.4 million to $3,464.9 million, and for the Toll product class ranged from $142.8 million to $161.2 million. The Company also reports unbilled receivables and contract liabilities related to its revenue recognition.
