Customers competes with various financial institutions for deposit and loan business, including commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, insurance companies, securities brokerage firms, credit unions, finance companies, private credit funds, fintech companies, mutual funds, money market funds, and certain government agencies. Many competitors are larger, with greater financial resources, personnel, and locations. Customers is subject to regulation, while some competitors are not, resulting in fewer barriers to entry for non-regulated companies. Larger competitors also have greater name recognition and advertising resources. Competition factors include service quality, interest rates, fees, convenience of locations and hours, and lending limits for larger commercial borrowers.
