Its markets for products and services involve competition from companies in the midstream energy sector, terminal operators, and entities engaged in the transportation of bulk goods. The Railroad segment specifically competes with other railroads, motor carriers, ships, barges, and pipelines. The company competes based on industry knowledge, capital availability, and deal structuring experience and flexibility. It attributes its competitive position to its Manager's experience in the infrastructure industry, access to capital, and focus on diverse asset classes and customers.
