Comerica competes with financial institutions of various sizes, including nationwide banks with significant presence in its markets. Competitors may offer broader product ranges, more liberal lending policies, aggressive pricing, and face different regulatory requirements. Comerica also competes with financial intermediaries such as savings and loan associations, consumer and commercial finance companies, leasing companies, venture capital funds, hedge funds, private equity firms, credit unions, investment banks, insurance companies, and securities firms. Competition increasingly involves financial technology and capabilities, including mobile banking and funds transfer.
