Block, Inc., along with its subsidiaries, develops technology to support individuals and businesses in managing, transferring, and growing their money through integrated tools. The company operates ecosystems that combine commerce solutions, financial services, software, hardware, and networks, primarily serving individuals and small businesses via Cash App's consumer network and Square's business network. Block's platform integrates payments, banking, lending, and commerce solutions, emphasizing secure, reliable, and scalable financial infrastructure enhanced by data, automation, and artificial intelligence. The Square ecosystem, established in 2009, enables businesses to accept card payments and offers over 30 products and services designed to assist sellers in starting, operating, and expanding their businesses through cohesive, fast, and self-service solutions. The Cash App ecosystem provides consumers with financial products and services, including sending, receiving, spending, investing, buy now pay later (BNPL), borrowing, and saving. Cash App aims to enhance money accessibility and utility, fostering customer retention and, in partnership with banks, seeks to become a leading banking service provider for U.S. households with incomes up to $150,000 annually.
The registrant operates two reportable segments: Square and Cash App, which correspond to the primary ecosystems used by the chief operating decision maker to assess performance. Revenue is categorized into three reportable groups: Commerce Enablement, Financial Solutions, and the Bitcoin Ecosystem. Commerce Enablement comprises Square payments, software, hardware, Cash App Card, Cash App Pay, buy now pay later (BNPL) products, Cash App Business, and TIDAL streaming and artist tools. Financial Solutions includes banking, lending, and money management products such as Cash App Borrow, Instant Deposit, Interest Income, Paper Money Deposits, ATM services, brokerage services, Square Loans, Savings, Balances, and Square Card. The Bitcoin Ecosystem covers consumer and business bitcoin products, including bitcoin buy/sell functionality in Cash App, Square Bitcoin, Proto, and Bitkey. These categories represent distinct growth and profitability drivers supported by shared infrastructure. Collectively, they generated $10.4 billion in gross profit in 2025.
