The registrant's reportable segments are Florida and Mid-Atlantic. The Florida segment encompasses cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, concrete block, and fly ash operations within Florida. It operates one cement plant, the Pennsuco plant in Medley, Florida; three mines; 41 ready-mix locations with 48 batch plants; eight concrete block locations with 13 production lines; two fly ash facilities; and one multi-product marine import terminal with associated logistics infrastructure. The Pennsuco plant is the largest cement plant in Florida by capacity, currently producing 2.4 million tons annually, with plans to increase capacity to over 2.9 million tons by 2030. The plant produces Lower-Carbon Cement, which has at least 10% lower CO2 emissions compared to standard ordinary Portland cement. Cement storage capacity at the plant is approximately 72,000 tons across 12 silos, and clinker storage capacity is about 67,350 tons, with an additional 30,000 tons planned by fiscal year 2026. Logistics infrastructure includes high-capacity rail lines connected to the Florida East Coast Railway and truck loadout capacity with four bays operating continuously. The Pennsuco plant also features an on-site packaging facility. In late 2019, the plant commissioned a $14 million alternative fuel processing facility that converts commercial and industrial waste into fuel for the kiln. An additional $6.5 million investment is in progress to increase alternative fuel consumption capability to up to 60%, with completion expected by mid-2025.
