Description of I 80 Gold
i-80 Gold Corp., incorporated on November 10, 2020, is a public company engaged in gold mining and related operations. It was established as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Premier Gold Mines Limited to complete a plan of arrangement finalized on April 7, 2021. This arrangement involved Premier transferring its ownership interest in Premier Gold Mines USA, Inc. to i-80 Gold Corp. and distributing 70% of i-80 Gold Corp.'s common shares to Premier shareholders. Following the arrangement, i-80 Gold Corp. became an independent company publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol IAU and on the NYSE American exchange under the symbol IAUX. The company’s operations include the development, permitting, and operation of gold mining projects such as the Lone Tree Plant, Granite Creek, Mineral Point, and Cove, with ongoing efforts in refurbishment, production ramp-up, and resource conversion. i-80 Gold Corp. pursues growth through project development, technical studies, and financing strategies including royalty sales and gold prepayment facilities. The company aims to advance its assets toward commercial production and achieve mid-tier production status while managing risks related to construction, permitting, financing, and market conditions.
