Description of Heartflow Inc
The company provides software and artificial intelligence solutions for diagnosing and managing coronary artery disease (CAD) through non-invasive methods. Its Heartflow Platform, utilized in over 600,000 patients as of December 31, 2025, employs AI and computational fluid dynamics to generate personalized 3D heart models from coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) scans. The platform offers detailed information on blood flow, stenosis, plaque volume, and plaque composition, addressing limitations of traditional non-invasive imaging. By quantifying CAD severity and characterizing plaque composition, the Heartflow Platform supports precise diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment planning without invasive procedures. The cloud-based platform is scalable, integrates into physician workflows, and includes a human-in-the-loop quality control process. As of December 31, 2025, the company has analyzed over 160 million annotated CCTA images and serves more than 1,465 accounts in the United States. The Heartflow Platform portfolio comprises three software products: Heartflow RoadMap Analysis, which enhances CCTA reading efficiency and consistency; Heartflow FFR CT Analysis, the flagship product providing 3D anatomical reconstructions to assess blood flow and CAD severity; and Heartflow Plaque Analysis, with a fourth product anticipated in 2026. These products assist physicians in diagnosing and managing CAD and facilitate reimbursement processes.
The Company operates as a single reportable and operating segment focused on non-invasive coronary artery disease (CAD) detection solutions. The Chief Executive Officer, serving as the Chief Operating Decision Maker (CODM), reviews consolidated financial information, including revenue and net loss, to make operating decisions, allocate resources, and evaluate financial performance. Segment profit or loss is measured by consolidated net loss, which is used to assess actual results against expectations, establish performance metrics, and develop the annual budget. Key expenses within consolidated net loss include cost of revenue, research and development, and selling, general and administrative expenses, each detailed separately in the consolidated statements of operations and comprehensive loss. Additional expense items comprise interest income, interest expense, changes in fair value of warrant and derivative liabilities, loss on extinguishment of debt, other income (net), and provision for income taxes. Financial data for the years ended December 31, 2025, 2024, and 2023 include revenue, cost of revenue, research and development expenses (including regulatory and clinical), selling, general and administrative expenses (including sales and marketing), loss from operations, other income (expense), net, provision for income taxes, and segment net loss. The Company generates revenue and holds long-lived assets primarily in the United States.
