Description of Global Partners Lp

We are a midstream logistics and marketing master limited partnership formed in March 2005 engaged in the purchasing, selling, storing and logistics of transporting petroleum and related products, including gasoline and gasoline blendstocks (such as ethanol), distillates (such as home heating oil, diesel and kerosene), residual oil, renewable fuels, crude oil, natural gas and propane. We own, control or have access to one of the largest terminal networks of refined petroleum products and renewable fuels in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (collectively, the “Northeast”). We are one of the largest distributors of gasoline, distillates, residual oil and renewable fuels to wholesalers, retailers and commercial customers in the New England states and New York. We are also one of the largest independent owners, suppliers and operators of gasoline stations and convenience stores in these areas.
Global Partners LP Overview: Segments, Products, and Services

1. Wholesale Segment:

In the Wholesale segment, Global Partners LP is actively engaged in the logistics of selling, gathering, storing, and transporting various petroleum products. This segment encompasses a diverse range of fuels, including refined petroleum products, renewable fuels, crude oil, and propane.

- Transportation: The company utilizes multiple transportation methods for these products, including railcars, barges, and pipelines. Products are delivered either through spot contracts (short-term agreements) or long-term contracts, providing flexibility to cater to different market needs.

- Crude Oil Aggregation: Global Partners LP aggregates crude oil primarily in the mid-continent region of the United States and Canada. The company employs trucks and pipelines for initial aggregation, followed by rail transportation. The crude oil is then shipped by barge to various refiners for processing.

- Product Distribution: The company sells a variety of products including:
- Home heating oil
- Branded and unbranded gasoline
- Gasoline blendstocks
- Diesel
- Kerosene
- Residual oil
- Propane

These products are primarily sold to home heating oil and propane retailers, as well as wholesale distributors. Customers usually use their own vehicles or engage contract carriers for delivery of gasoline and distillates. Deliveries take place at bulk terminals and inland storage facilities that Global Partners owns or controls, or where they have established throughput or exchange arrangements.

- Ethanol Transportation: Ethanol, a key renewable fuel in the companys portfolio, is primarily shipped via rail and barge, enabling efficient distribution to various markets.

2. Commercial Segment:

The Commercial segment focuses on sales and deliveries to end-user customers within both the public sector and large commercial and industrial entities. This segment caters specifically to consumers of unbranded gasoline, home heating oil, diesel, kerosene, residual oil, bunker fuel, and natural gas.

- Sales Mechanism: In dealing with public sector and large industrial clients, Global Partners LP typically sells products through competitive bidding processes or various term contracts. This competitive approach ensures transparency and potentially favorable terms for clients.

- Delivery Logistics: The company is dedicated to providing seamless logistics and delivery services. They arrange transportation of products directly to customers designated locations, ensuring efficient distribution based on client specific requirements.

- Response to Requests for Proposals: Global Partners LP actively engages in responding to publicly issued requests for product proposals and quotations, reinforcing its commitment to client engagement and satisfaction.

- Custom Blended Fuels: Another notable offering in the Commercial segment is the sales of custom blended fuels. These specialized fuels are delivered either via barges or from terminal docks to ships, particularly through bunkering operations – a service critical for maritime fuels.

Conclusion:

Global Partners LP demonstrates a comprehensive operational strategy in both its Wholesale and Commercial segments, focusing on a wide array of refined petroleum products and renewable fuels. The companys capacity to manage logistics, transportation, and customer-centric services positions it as a key player in the energy sector. With its extensive offerings and tailored solutions, Global Partners LP is poised to meet diverse fuel demands across various market segments, ensuring reliability and efficiency in product delivery.
