Description of Geospace Technologies
We design and manufacture instruments and equipment used in the oil and gas industry
to acquire seismic data in order to locate, characterize and monitor hydrocarbon
producing reservoirs. We also design and manufacture non-seismic products, including
industrial products, offshore cables, thermal printing equipment and film. We
report and categorize our customers and products into two different segments:
Seismic and Non-Seismic.
Geospace Technologies Corp is a leading provider in the geophysical instrumentation and data collection industry, with a wide array of products and services designed primarily for the oil and gas sector, as well as other industrial applications. 2. Permanent Monitoring Systems: Solutions for continuous monitoring of reservoirs both on land and on the seabed, allowing for real-time analysis of geological changes and reservoir behavior.
3. Sensors:
- Geophones: Used for detecting seismic waves in terrestrial applications.
- Hydrophones: Deployed in marine settings to monitor pressure changes in water, converting these measurements into electrical signals for data acquisition.
- Multi-Component Sensors: Capable of capturing different types of seismic data simultaneously.
4. Support Equipment:
- Leader Wires, Connectors, and Telemetry Cables: Essential components for both terrestrial and marine seismic data acquisition systems.
- Geophone and Hydrophone Strings: Bundled devices for enhanced data collection efficiency.
- Marine Streamer Devices: Including retrieval and steering devices that ensure optimal performance and recovery of data collection systems in marine environments.

- As of the end of September 2015, Geospace sold 331,000 GSX channels and maintained a rental fleet of 130,000 channels.
2. OBX Marine-Based System:

- Designed for extreme depths, the deep-water variant can be deployed at depths up to 3,450 meters. As of September 30, 2015, 450 OBX stations have been sold, alongside a rental fleet of 4,400 units.
