Description of Energy Co Of Parana's Business Segments

The registrant's reportable operating business segments include electricity sales to final customers, which decreased by 6.2% due to reduced volume sold to Free Customers by Copel COM, a 5.7% reduction in consumption in Copel DIS's captive market, and the effects of periodic tariff adjustments. Electricity sales to distributors and energy traders increased by 53.3%, driven by growth in sales in the ACL by Copel COM, improved performance of Copel GeT in the short-term market, higher volumes sold under bilateral contracts, increased energy sales in the MCP and MSCD by Copel DIS, and a reduced provision for generation deviation in the wind generation segment. Use of the main distribution and transmission grid decreased by 1.0%, mainly due to increased CDE charges at Copel DIS and a negative impact from the revision of financial component values of the RAP in the Existing System Basic Grid, partially offset by growth in the Grid Market at Copel DIS and consolidation of the Mata de Santa Genebra transmission company at Copel GeT. Construction income increased by 29.5% due to increased investments in the distribution segment, including the Paraná Trifásico and Rede Elétrica Inteligente projects, as well as reinforcements and improvements in the transmission segment. The fair value of assets from the indemnity for the concession increased by 95.6%.
