Under the terms of the agreement, eVolare, which is one of the largest helicopter and private jet operators in the United Kingdom, will acquire four Lilium Jets. The sale and purchase agreements, which are binding, include comprehensive delivery schedules, guarantees, and warranties, in addition to deposits and pre-delivery payments. This comprehensive framework ensures that both parties are aligned on the operational readiness and timely deployment of these cutting-edge aircraft.
Moreover, the agreement lays the groundwork for a potential future collaboration, with the reservation of up to an additional 12 Lilium Jet production slots for eVolare and its customers. This strategic move positions eVolare at the forefront of the eVTOL market in the UK, with a firm eye on expanding its service offerings. Based in Oxford, eVolare plans to leverage the innovative capabilities of the Lilium Jets to operate services in the London area, thereby significantly enhancing connectivity between the capital, outer cities, and coastal areas of England.
“We are thrilled to partner with eVolare, a leader in helicopter and private jet operations,” said the CEO of Lilium, Klaus Roewe. “This agreement not only signifies a significant commercial milestone for Lilium but also reinforces our vision of transforming regional air mobility. Together, we are setting a new benchmark for sustainable and efficient air travel.”
As Lilium continues to march towards the commercialization of its jets, the company has also made significant strides in other critical areas of development. Earlier, on November 09, 2023, Lilium announced a pivotal partnership with Michelin to develop and serially produce custom tires tailored specifically for the Lilium Jet. The collaboration, which began over a year ago, culminated in a final agreement encompassing design, production, and post-production support.
Michelin, a global leader in tire manufacturing with over a century of expertise in the aeronautical industry, brings unparalleled knowledge and innovation to the table. The custom tire solution developed for Lilium Jets aims to meet rigorous safety, weight, and reliability standards, ensuring optimal performance and endurance. The first batch of these innovative tires is expected to be delivered to Lilium’s facilities this month, marking another milestone in Lilium’s journey towards operational readiness.
“Michelin’s century-long experience in aviation tire design and technology is a perfect complement to Lilium’s cutting-edge aerospace capabilities,” noted Roewe. “With Michelin as our partner, we are confident in delivering a high-performance, safe, and reliable product to our customers.”
This series of strategic partnerships underscores Lilium’s holistic approach to developing a robust and reliable infrastructure for the future of regional air mobility. By aligning with industry pioneers like eVolare and Michelin, Lilium is not only propelling the eVTOL industry forward but also paving the way for a more connected, sustainable, and efficient mode of air transport.
Through these collaborative efforts, Lilium and its partners are setting an ambitious precedent, one that promises to redefine regional connectivity and air travel for future generations. As the aviation industry continues to evolve, Lilium’s commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability positions it as a formidable force in the future of aerial mobility.
