Description of Photronics Inc
Photronics, Inc. is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of photomasks,
which are high precision photographic quartz or glass plates containing microscopic
images of electronic circuits. Photomasks are a key element in the manufacture
of semiconductors and flat panel displays (“FPDs”), and are used as
masters to transfer circuit patterns onto semiconductor wafers and flat panel
display substrates during the fabrication of integrated circuits (“ICs”
or “semiconductors”) and a variety of FPDs and, to a lesser extent,
other types of electrical and optical components. The Company currently operates
principally from nine manufacturing facilities; two of which are located in Europe,
three in Taiwan, one in Korea and three in the United States. We have announced
plans to construct two manufacturing facilities in China, as we expand our global
manufacturing footprint. See Note 19 to the consolidated financial statements
for additional information.
Photronics Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced photomasks, which are essential components in the semiconductor manufacturing process. The company primarily focuses on serving the semiconductor and display technology industries. Below is an extensive description of the segments, products, and services offered by Photronics Inc.
