Delaware City Refinery

One of PBFs key assets is the Delaware City Refinery, situated on an expansive 5,000-acre site. The refinery is strategically positioned to utilize multiple transportation modes, which allows for effective logistical operations. Significant features include:

- Access to Waterborne Cargoes: The refinery can receive crude oil via ships and barges on the Delaware River, enhancing its supply chain flexibility.
- Crude Unloading Facilities: Rail and pipeline capabilities allow for seamless receipt of crude feedstock.
- Extensive Tank Farm: The facility boasts a significant storage capacity for crude and other feedstocks prior to processing.
- Distribution Network: A 15-lane truck loading rack supports a high throughput of 76,000 barrels per day, while a 23-mile interstate pipeline facilitates the efficient movement of refined products.

In addition, participating in the logistics network, PBF Energy collaborates with PBFX (PBF Logistics LP) for the transportation and handling of its products.

Logistics Segment

PBF Energys Logistics segment is structured around its ownership in PBFX, a public master limited partnership (MLP) established to manage a variety of logistics assets critical to the company’s operations. The Logistics segment encompasses:

- Terminals: PBFX owns and operates terminals for a range of petroleum products, facilitating the receipt, storage, and distribution of crude oil and refined products.
- Pipelines: An interconnected system of pipelines aids in the efficient transportation of crude oil and refined products, enhancing supply reliability across its refineries.

- Logistics Services: The division provides essential logistics services including the handling, storing, and transferring of crude oil, refined products, and natural gas, both for PBF Energy’s refineries and third-party customers.

A significant portion of PBFXs revenue is derived from long-term, fee-based contracts with PBF Holding, which include minimum volume commitments. The business structure allows for steady cash flows and operational synergy, mitigating the risks typically associated with commodity price volatility.
