Description of Functional Brands
Functional Brands Inc. operates in the nutraceutical supplement industry as a manufacturer and distributor of supplements targeting various health categories, including pain, energy, prenatal, general health, bone and joint, gastrointestinal, immunity, cardiac, detoxification, mental clarity and focus, sleep, and urinary health. The company markets and sells its products primarily through pharmacies, U.S. wholesalers, international distributors, and direct-to-consumer channels. Its products are sold over the counter without requiring a prescription and are not approved by the FDA. Functional Brands conducts production, marketing, sales, and distribution of nutraceutical products through its Kirkman division, which ships products throughout the United States and to 35 countries. The company previously sold hemp-derived products under the Hemptown brand in certain U.S. states but has discontinued that product line. Originally organized as HT Naturals Inc. in Delaware in 2020, the company changed its name to Functional Brands Inc. in 2023. It acquired Kirkman Group Inc. and related entities in 2019 and completed internal restructuring in 2023, making HTO Nevada a wholly-owned subsidiary. In 2025, Functional Brands completed a private placement of Series A and B Convertible Preferred Stock and a direct listing of its common stock on Nasdaq under the symbol "MEHA."
