Description of Mission Produce Inc
Serving retail, wholesale, and foodservice clients, Mission Produce, Inc. is a global leader in sourcing, manufacturing, and distributing fresh avocados.
We have two reporting segments in addition to our operational segments:
Fruit is largely sourced from growers and then distributed through our global distribution network by Marketing and Distribution.
International Farming owns and runs orchards from which our Marketing and Distribution section purchases the majority of the fruit produced. Farming operations in this section span from growing early-stage plants to harvesting mature trees. During the avocado off-harvest season, the segment also derives service income from packaging and processing for growers of other crops. The International Farming section is mostly based in Peru, with minor enterprises sprouting up in other Latin American countries.
Avocados are sourced, produced, packed, and distributed by us. The majority of the avocados we sell are Hass varieties. We sort and pack avocados, matching their standards to those of our customers. We sell both pre-ripe and ripened avocados, and thanks to our network of ripening facilities, we can tailor the amount of maturity to our clients preferences. Our personalized ripening plans allow consumers to buy avocados at five various stages of ripeness ' hard, preconditioned, breaking, firm-ripe, and ripe ' which are supplied on specially crafted timetables based on stage of maturity.

This sections farming operations range from the cultivation of young plants to the harvesting of old trees. The International Farming segment is primarily based on Peru, although there are a few tiny businesses cropping up in other Latin American countries.

In addition, we offer value-added services like as ripening, bagging, bespoke packing, and logistics management. In addition, we provide our clients merchandising and promotional assistance, market data, and hands-on training to help them increase their retail sales of our avocados. For example, we run category management, merchandising, and packaging programs, such as "Avocado Intel," "Minis," "Emeralds in the Rough," "Ready," "Size Minded," "small but mighty," "Jumbos'more to eat, more to love," and shelf-life extension programs, to promote the sale of avocados that would otherwise go unnoticed, to identify ready-to-eat and various size avocados for consumers.
