The Company operates through three main business segments, including the Construction Products segment, which manufactures and sells natural and recycled aggregates, specialty materials, asphalt mix, and construction site support equipment such as trench shields and shoring products. The Natural Aggregates business functions primarily from open pit quarries and one underground mine located in Texas, New Jersey, and eight additional states, organized into four regions: Texas, the East, the Gulf Coast, and the West. Its product range includes sand, gravel, crushed stone, and stabilized material used in construction and infrastructure projects. On October 1, 2024, the Company acquired the construction materials business of Stavola Holding Corporation and its affiliates for $1.2 billion, extending its aggregates operations into the New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Statistical Area. Stavola is a vertically integrated construction materials company with five hard rock natural aggregates quarries, twelve asphalt plants, and three recycled aggregates sites. The Recycled Aggregates business is the largest producer in the United States, operating in Texas, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Arizona. It produces recycled aggregates by crushing concrete from demolished structures, removing debris, and screening the material for use in road base, erosion control, building foundations, and backfill. The segment also produces reclaimed asphalt pavement primarily for sale to asphalt operations. Recycled aggregates serve as a substitute for natural aggregates, currently representing a small portion of total aggregates nationwide, with anticipated growth driven by resource scarcity and sustainability considerations.
