Graphjet is developing a low-cost production method for artificial graphite and graphene using a patented biomass process. The company has not yet generated sales but plans to provide product samples to multinational companies as alternatives to higher-cost suppliers. On December 27, 2022, Graphjet signed its first supply agreement with Toyoda to deliver $30 million annually of graphite and graphene for Toyoda's carbon neutral mobility product. Due to export restrictions imposed by China, Graphjet did not generate revenue in 2023. The company is establishing a production facility in Malaysia to fulfill the agreement.
