The banking and financial services industry in California, including the Company's market areas, is highly competitive due to regulatory changes, technological advancements, and consolidation among financial service providers. The Company competes with major commercial banks, diversified financial institutions, credit unions, savings institutions, money market and mutual funds, mortgage companies, and various non-banking financial services and advisory firms. Many competitors have larger assets and capitalization, greater access to capital markets, and offer a broader range of services. The Company utilizes personal contact and specialized services to compete and may engage correspondents when unable to meet customer needs. Market share data as of June 30, 2025, is reported by the FDIC for the eight California counties where the Company operates. Federal laws and regulations, including the Bank Holding Company Act (BHCA) and Federal Reserve capital requirements, impose restrictions on certain ownership and activities of the Company and its subsidiaries.
