Officers & Directors
Duncan T. Blount, age 42, has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Chilean Cobalt since July 2022 and assumed the role of Board Chairperson in January 2024. He has nearly 20 years of experience in global natural resources, previously serving as CEO and Director of Decklar Resources, Inc., and holding investment management positions at Redwheel and Everest Capital Ltd. He is also a Non-Executive Director of American Tungsten Corp. and an Advisory Board member of Ocean Minerals LLC. Blount holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA from Samford University.
Jim Van Horn, CPA, age 60, has been Chief Financial Officer of Chilean Cobalt since January 2022. He was interim CFO and Chief Compliance Officer for Sigma Investment Management Co. from 2018 to 2020 and served as CFO and Chief Compliance Officer from 2005 to 2018. Van Horn holds a post-baccalaureate degree in Accounting from Portland State University, is a licensed CPA in Oregon since 1999, and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University.
Jeremy McCann, age 47, has been Chief Operating Officer, Secretary, and Treasurer of Chilean Cobalt since December 4, 2017. He is a Founder and COO of Genlith Inc., overseeing U.S.-based operations. Previously, he was COO of Schooner Investment Group LLC from 2008 to 2017. McCann holds a B.S. in Finance from McGill University.
Andy Sloop, age 59, has been Chief Sustainability Officer of Chilean Cobalt since January 17, 2025, and a Board Director since October 21, 2021. He has served on the Audit Committee and the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee since 2022, chairing the ESG Committee. In 2025, he led the Board-approved adoption of the Digbee and IRMA ESG frameworks.
