Leading the string of announcements, the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has extended a contract to Willdan of $18 million, making this the sixth consecutive time the latter has been chosen to deliver PSE’s Small Business Direct Install program. This cooperation is set to enable direct installation of energy efficiency solutions to PSE’s small business customers for electrical and gas operations. The renewed contract illustrates an emphasis to particularly aid small lodging and agricultural businesses.
Under the scheme, Willdan provides direct installations of energy efficiency measures, proving its commitment to sustainable and responsible energy use. The program has been vital for small businesses in past years, many of which have continuously grappled with the challenges of adopting energy-efficient practices.
In another crucial partnership, a national healthcare provider has selected Willdan to boost their decarbonization plans. This initiative aims to curb natural gas use in domestic hot water, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, sterilization configurations, and central utility units across more than 1,000 building facilities. The strategic partnership with Willdan aims to achieve their carbon-neutral goals by 2050.
This collaboration enables the healthcare provider to tap into federal, state, and local support to ensure a smooth transition to sustainable energy use. With Willdan’s robust tactical plan, the health care provider aims to significantly mitigate the environmental impacts of its operations in the coming years.
Furthermore, Willdan bagged a $6.45 million energy service performance contract from the Yosemite Unified School District. As part of the deal, Willdan will spearhead the design and installation of a vast 734-kW solar photovoltaic system spread across the district’s three school sites. Upgrades to lighting, HVAC system, and thermostat controls are also penned under this contract. In a bid to ramp up environmental sustainability, Willdan will also provide assistance in grant application and planning for the district’s electric vehicle (EV) fleet and charging infrastructure.
