The service is expected to commence operations in May 2024, bringing convenience and efficiency to travelers in the region. The Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority will provide funding and services to support the establishment and ongoing operations of this air service.
Similarly, the collaboration between Surf Air Mobility and Purdue University aims to offer privately subsidized commuter air service between West Lafayette / Purdue University Airport and Chicago O’Hare Airport. By creating this connectivity, students, faculty, and business professionals can enjoy efficient travel between the two cities. Purdue University will provide financial support to ensure the success of the air service, which is expected to begin in the early second quarter of 2024.
In a separate partnership, Surf Air Mobility has joined forces with Azul, the largest airline in Brazil, to introduce electric powertrains into Azul’s Cessna Caravan fleet. By electrifying these aircraft, Azul aims to make substantial progress toward its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
