An overwhelming majority of Americans are increasingly apprehensive concerning the surge in acts of violence within the United States, as reported by global cloud-based artificial intelligence solution provider, Iveda. In recent findings released by the company, it was revealed that 84% of Americans showed a marked concern about the escalating levels of violence in the country.
Due to the growing uncertainty, many individuals have adjusted their lifestyle to prioritize personal safety. As per the data released by Iveda, over three-fourths (79%) of Americans claimed to have intentionally changed their regular daily routines, driven by anxiety surrounding their safety and overall wellbeing.
The current climate of unease, however, has stimulated discussions about potential advances in technology that could be beneficial in counteracting violence. More than half of the surveyed population (53%) expressed a positive understanding regarding the use and effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing these safety concerns.
Though AI has sparked debates on privacy and ethical matters, these findings indicate a demographic that is largely supportive of AI interventions to increase national security and personal safety. While there are no precise details on how AI could aid in improving public safety, possibilities could include enhanced surveillance systems, predictive policing models, or even AI-assisted conflict resolution.
However, the successful application of AI in this respect would require collaboration among tech experts, lawmakers, and the public for crafting regulations that balance safety with respect for civil liberties. Regardless, this data presented by Iveda suggests that a sizeable portion of Americans not only recognizes AI’s potential in mitigating violence but also shows a positive understanding of its implementation.
