Regional Management Corp. Completes $187 Million Asset-Backed Securitization
Regional Management Corp. (NYSE: RM), a diversified consumer finance company, announced the successful completion of a $187.3 million asset-backed securitization, marking its tenth successful securitization. The Regional Management Issuance Trust 2024-1 (RMIT 2024-1) notes were issued at a weighted-average coupon of 6.19%, which is a 132 basis point improvement over the prior RMIT 2022-2B issued notes. The notes are secured by $215.7 million of receivables and have a 3-year revolving period.
In Q3, Regional Management Corp.’s corporate clients experienced a reduction of 2.06% in their costs of revenue compared to a year ago. Sequentially, costs of revenue were trimmed by 0.19%. During the same period, the company recorded a year-on-year revenue increase of 7.17% and a sequential revenue growth of 5.54%. However, revenue for the company’s corporate clients fell by 3.76% year on year and sequentially fell by 1.01%.
There has been a decline in business among Regional Management Corp.’s corporate clients within the Life Insurance industry, experiencing a revenue decline of 0.4%. However, the company’s business partners within the Property & Casualty Insurance industry performed well, despite experiencing a revenue decline of 4.5%. These observations are further supported by Genworth Financial Inc.’s recent report of a -0.4% revenue decline as one of Regional Management Corp.’s corporate clients.
To address the large-scale decline in business, it will be challenging for Regional Management Corp. to find resolutions. However, focusing on business partners and making a better effort in the approaching time could potentially improve the situation. Outlays for investments in capital goods have also decreased by 4.75%, which is often considered an indicator of how the CFO perceives the signal.
To provide more context, investments in capital goods in relevant industries such as the Professional Services Industry have risen by 9.53%, and the Oil Well Services & Equipment Industry has seen a revenue rise of 4.03%. It’s important to note that these industry growth rates include every entity in the respective industries, not just Regional Management Corp.’s corporate customers.
Overall, Regional Management Corp. has experienced some positive and negative developments in its corporate clients’ financial performance. The completion of the asset-backed securitization highlights the company’s ability to secure financing for its operations. However, the decline in revenue among corporate clients and the challenges in the business environment pose significant obstacles for the company’s future growth.
