Oshkosh Defense Secures Trio of Contracts Totaling Over $368 Million to Modernize U.S. Army Fleet’
Oshkosh, Wis. - Oshkosh Defense, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), has secured a series of significant contracts from the U.S. Army Contracting Command Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) to supply modernized tactical vehicles and equipment. The combined value of these contracts exceeds $368 million, underscoring the company’s pivotal role in the U.S. Army’s ongoing modernization efforts.
The largest of these contracts is valued at $231.9 million and focuses on the production of modernized Heavy Tactical Vehicles (HTVs). Under this order, Oshkosh Defense will manufacture a range of Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Trucks (HEMTT) A4 variants. These will include tankers, cargos, wreckers, load handling systems (LHS), Common Bridge Transports (CBT), and Palletized Load System (PLS) A1 vehicles. These robust vehicles are essential for various logistical and operational functions, enhancing the Army’s ability to manage diverse mission requirements effectively.
In a separate but equally significant development, Oshkosh Defense has also received a $27.3 million order for 57 Medium Equipment Trailers (MET). This deal will see Oshkosh Defense collaborating with partner Broshuis B.V. to deliver six-axle drop deck trailers, which are compatible with the Oshkosh Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter System (EHETS) M1300 tractor. These trailers will bolster the Army’s capability to transport medium-sized equipment efficiently, further enhancing logistical efficiency.
The third contract, valued at $108.9 million, involves an order for additional Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles A2 (FMTV A2) and trailers. This order not only supports the U.S. Army’s modernization initiatives but also includes Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to international partners. The FMTV A2 is celebrated for its versatility, reliability, and performance, making it an invaluable asset across a wide range of missions.
