In a press release dated Feb. 02, 2024, the company mentioned the issue was unearthed during a recent review by its manufacturer and a third-party laboratory.
Benzene, a known carcinogen, is not a typical ingredient in any products of the TING Athletes Foot Spray range. However, analysis from the recent review showed the chemical stemming from the spray propellant, in an aberrant occurrence that forced the company to take this measured action. These unusual levels of benzene do not come from the product itself but from the mechanism used to dispense it out of its container.
Although benzene can be a part of the environment, both natural and industrial, the level discovered in the two specified lots of TING 1% Tolnaftate Athletes Foot Spray Antifungal Spray Liquid was deemed concerning and beyond the acceptable limit.
The Insight Pharmaceuticals press statement has reassured the public that the recall is limited only to the two lots of TING 1% Tolnaftate Athletes Foot Spray Antifungal Spray Liquid. No other lots, whether they have been produced prior to or after these particular batch codes, are involved in the recall process. Moreover, the issue has not been detected in any other products under the Ting Antifungal Spray Liquid brand name. Users can continue using those unaffected products safely and as prescribed.
Insight Pharmaceuticals is executing this recall move voluntarily and nationwide, staying true to its commitment for public welfare.
