HII Secures International Order for REMUS 620 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle, Alongside Other Major Contracts
MCLEAN, Va. March 13, 2024 - Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), a leading provider of advanced defense products and services, has recently announced that it has received a significant order for a REMUS 620 unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) from an undisclosed international customer in the Indo-Pacific region. The REMUS 620 UUV is a highly advanced and versatile underwater vehicle that plays a crucial role in various naval applications, including mine countermeasures, underwater surveys, and intelligence operations. This order comes on the heels of HII’s recent success in securing other noteworthy contracts. In January 2024, HII’s Mission Technologies division was awarded a $197 million recompete task order contract to develop the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE). The JTSE project aims to create a seamless integration of live and virtual training environments to enhance joint force readiness. HII’s expertise in developing cutting-edge simulation technologies positions them as a trusted partner in revolutionizing military training methods.
Additionally, HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division received a cost-plus-award fee contract from the U.S. Navy in November 2023. This contract involves follow yard support for the Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) destroyer program. As a renowned shipbuilder, HII will provide critical support to ensure the successful continuation and maintenance of the Navy’s destroyer fleet.
