HCLTech Strengthens Market Position with Acquisition from Hewlett Packard Enterprise
HCLTech, a leading global technology company, announced today that it will enhance its leadership position in the telecommunications services market through the acquisition of certain assets of the Communications Technology Group (CTG) from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). This move allows HCLTech to expand its range of technical services for global communication service providers.
As part of the agreement, HCLTech will acquire industry-leading intellectual property (IP), engineering, and research professionals from CTG, reinforcing its ability to provide comprehensive solutions to its clients. By capitalizing on HPE’s assets, HCLTech aims to establish a stronger foothold in the telecommunications sector.
This acquisition comes at a time when HPE is reporting a decline in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the previous year. While most of its competitors experienced a revenue increase of 20.99% during the same period, HPE witnessed a decrease of 13.5%. Despite this setback, HPE managed to achieve higher profitability than its competitors, with a net margin of 5.73%.Moreover, HPE’s net income also declined by 22.75% in the fourth quarter of 2023, whereas its competitors experienced a contraction of 21.93% on average. Additionally, HPE’s market share dropped to 7.54% in Q4 2023 from 9.44% in Q3 2023, resulting in a market share of 8.87% over the past 12 months.
Through the acquisition of CTG assets, HCLTech aims to capitalize on its expertise and expand its services in the telecommunications industry.
