The company has also announced a landmark $249 million contract with Atlantic Green for the development of one of the UK’s largest battery energy storage projects. This project, known as the Cellarhead Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), entails the construction of a 300-megawatt (MW) storage facility with a maximum energy capacity of 624 megawatt-hours (MWh). Envision Energy will collaborate with Ameresco on the project, which is set to be connected to the National Grid’s Cellarhead sub-station, thereby playing a vital role in supporting the UK’s energy transition efforts.
