Obesity has become a global epidemic, with significant health and economic burdens. Considering the limited efficacy and potential safety concerns associated with existing anti-obesity medications, the development of novel therapeutic agents is of utmost importance. In this article, we present the positive topline data from the Phase 2a clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of GSBR-1290, an oral non-peptide small molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist, in promoting weight loss in obese individuals. Additionally, we discuss the results of a capsule to tablet pharmacokinetic (PK) study that further supports the potential of GSBR-1290 as a promising therapeutic option.
