In a significant move signaling its commitment to accelerating the energy transition in Europe, Stem Inc. (NYSE: STEM), a leader in AI-enabled clean energy software and services, has announced the expansion of its operations in Berlin. This development comes at a time when there is increasing demand for innovative solar, storage, and hybrid energy solutions across the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region.

Stem’s new Berlin facilities, which span 400 square meters, will nearly double the company’s workspace capacity. The centralized and collaborative nature of the new office is designed to enhance the synergy among Stem’s engineering, sales, and customer support teams. This expansion reflects the company’s strategic focus on advancing utility-scale solar and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects, reinforcing its position in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

In addition to its European expansion, Stem is actively involved in some of the largest solar-plus-storage projects within the United States. Notably, the company recently announced its role in the engineering advisory and design support for the Green River Energy Center in Eastern Utah. This substantial project includes a capacity of 400 megawatts (MW) of solar power and 1,600 megawatts of energy storage capacity. Stem’s expertise will facilitate energy storage metering configuration and the evaluation of power flow scenarios, which are critical for optimizing the energy output and efficiency of such large-scale projects.

Furthermore, Stem’s PowerTrack software platform has been established as the standard for managing and optimizing the performance of Summit Ridge Energy’s extensive portfolio. Covering 514 MW across 200 solar sites, this platform utilizes advanced AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency and performance management, underscoring Stem’s integral role in the commercial solar sector.

With these strategic initiatives, Stem is not only responding to the surging demand for renewable energy solutions but also positioning itself as a pivotal player in the global transition towards sustainable energy. As nations increasingly commit to clean energy targets, the company’s dual focus on expanding its European operations and supporting major projects in the U.S. is indicative of the growing interdependence of energy markets and the innovative approaches required to meet future energy demands.
