eGain Announces Webinar on Gen AI for Service, Featuring Success Story from Leading Utility Client
SUNNYVALE, Calif. May 02, 2024 - eGain, the leading AI knowledge platform for customer service, has announced an upcoming online seminar focused on generative AI for customer service. The webinar will feature a success story from one of eGain’s leading utility clients. This event aims to showcase the power and potential of generative AI in transforming customer service.
eGain Corporation’s corporate clients experienced a significant 35.03% decrease in their costs of revenue compared to the previous year. However, sequentially, costs of revenue grew by 17.37%. During the same period, eGain Corporation revenue deteriorated by 10.84% year on year and sequentially fell by 2.2%. In contrast, the company’s corporate clients recorded a 14.21% increase in revenue year on year, with sequential revenue growth of 3.63%. This growth in revenue was primarily driven by corporate customers in the Communications Services and Software & Programming industries.
Despite the increase in revenue, eGain’s corporate clients have created a greater build-up in backlog. Aiden Phillips, a business researcher based in Toronto, believes that unless the backlog level is tightened to catch up with prevailing demand, there may be a decline in sales for eGain. The situation could worsen if management decides to cut budgets.
Among eGain’s fastest-growing clients are At And T Inc (T) and Sprout Social Inc (SPT). These corporate customers from the Communications Services industry, Software & Programming industry, and other industries have reported significant revenue growth. However, some weak sections, such as Snap One Holdings (SNPO), continue to face challenges.
Investments in capital goods have also impacted eGain’s performance. On average, the company’s business clients have seen a rise of 10.49% in investments in capital goods. The overall results of these expenditures can be evaluated by looking at the improvement in revenue in industries closely related to them, such as the Industrial Machinery and Components Industry, which reported a 1.37% increase in revenue during the same time frame.
All of these factors, including investments and spending, are reflected in eGain’s market capitalization, as stakeholders have raised concerns. The CSIMarkets stock index of eGain’s corporate clients has seen a 16.86% increase year to date, while eGain’s own stocks have decreased by -23.06% in the same period.
Overall, eGain’s webinar on generative AI for customer service promises to be an insightful event, highlighting the success story of one of its leading utility clients. With the potential to transform the customer service industry, generative AI holds great promise for businesses and customers alike.
