Crown Forms Two New Divisions to Focus on Underground Lead Pipe Inspections and Remediations’
In a significant move aimed at addressing the issues surrounding underground lead pipes, Crown has announced the formation of two new specialized divisions. These divisions are specifically designed to conduct inspections and execute remediations of lead pipes, a source of growing concern due to public health implications.
To spearhead these initiatives, Crown has brought on board industry veterans Chuck Hansen and David Kinsella. Chuck Hansen has been appointed as the Chief Advisor for Lead Pipe Assessments. Known for his extensive expertise in infrastructure and utility inspections, Hansen is poised to guide the inspection division with his innovative strategies and comprehensive understanding of underground systems.
David Kinsella will serve as the President of two critical units: Element 82 and PE Pipelines. Element 82 will primarily focus on the assessment and remediation techniques for lead pipes, while PE Pipelines will center on polyethylene piping systems, offering a modern solution to traditional lead piping. Kinsella’s leadership is expected to steer these divisions towards effective and efficient identification and replacement of hazardous lead piping infrastructure.
The establishment of these divisions comes in response to increasing regulatory scrutiny and public demand for safer drinking water systems. Lead contamination in drinking water has been linked to numerous health risks, prompting utilities and municipalities to seek out advanced solutions for pipe assessments and replacements.
By creating these targeted divisions and hiring industry authorities like Hansen and Kinsella, Crown aims to become a leader in mitigating the risks associated with aging lead pipe infrastructure. This move not only reinforces Crown’s commitment to public health and safety but also positions the company as an innovator in the utility sector.
