BOSTON’ - Avangrid, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a prominent sustainable energy company and part of the Iberdrola Group, together with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), a global leader in green energy investment through its affiliate Vineyard Offshore, hosted Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey on Martha’s Vineyard for a tour of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) facilities that will support the first-in-the-nation Vineyard Wind 1 project.
The tour underscored the collaborative efforts between Avangrid and CIP in progressing offshore wind development in the United States, with Vineyard Wind 1 at the forefront. This project, a significant milestone for renewable energy in the country, represents a critical step toward sustainable energy solutions and bolstering the local economy.
Vineyard Wind 1, slated to be the nation’s pioneering commercial-scale offshore wind farm, aims to generate 800 megawatts (MW) of electricity, enough to power over 400,000 homes in Massachusetts. The O&M facilities visited by Governor Healey are essential for providing the long-term support needed to ensure the project’s efficiency and effectiveness.
