On September 25, 2023, Archer announced that its Midnight electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft reached a record altitude of 7,000 feet during a flight from its test facility in Salinas, California. This milestone is part of Archer’s ongoing envelope expansion testing program, which is designed to highlight the aircraft’s operational range and performance capabilities. Archer anticipates that such testing will lead to successful rollout and certification of the Midnight aircraft for commercial use in urban air mobility.

The company recently partnered with Jetex, a prominent global aviation services provider, to develop infrastructure across Jetex’s international network of private terminals. This collaboration, which initially focuses on the United Arab Emirates, aims to facilitate Archer’s commercial air taxi network. With Jetex currently managing around 40 private terminals worldwide, this partnership sets the stage for potential expansion of Archer’s services into new international markets.
Adding to its global ambitions, Archer announced it has signed an agreement with PT. IKN, an Indonesian firm devoted to enhancing national resilience through innovation in strategic industries, including advanced manufacturing and sustainable technology. This partnership marks Archer’s third announced launch edition deployment, following similar agreements with partners in other countries. The initial fleet of Midnight aircraft planned for Indonesia underscores Archer’s commitment to global operational expansion and strategic partnerships as it works toward launching its air taxi services.
